March Newsletter

Dear Southern Door Elementary Families,

Thank you to all families who were able to participate in our Family Literacy Night Read-a-Thon held on March 3!  Your participation and involvement means a lot to our students and staff! The event ended up raising $2,068.75 for our on-going elementary/middle school playground project, which we hope to complete this summer! We appreciate our two main sponsors, Renard’s Cheese and Southern Door Parents Involved in Education.

In total, we have now raised $278,459.07 for the new playground equipment and have a remaining balance of $58,405.59.  If you’d still like to make a donation, please make checks payable to Southern Door County School District. Donations may be sent to school with your child and given to a classroom teacher or mailed to 2073 County Road DK, Brussels, WI 54204.  Donations may also be submitted online using the Paypal account (PayPal.Me/SouthernDoorSchools).  If you are aware of any additional grant funding opportunities or employee match programs, please contact me to share more information.

Together in education,
Cory Vandertie
Principal
